2018 TRS-ActiveCare annual enrollment

It’s that time of year again for the TRS-ActiveCare Annual Enrollment.  This is only for health insurance.  Chuck will come after school begins with the other insurance options (dental, life, eye, etc).

Navigating Annual Enrollment

 

All changes, if any, must be made by August 24, 2018.

 

Changes this year include:

  •  A new portal “bswift” for making changes or seeking information.  A new account must be set up if there are changes being submitted.  (Even if you don’t have changes, I highly encourage you to create an account to have access to all the information found on this site, including the ability to reprint cards and look up providers.)
  • Attached is also an Enrollment Guide to pick a plan and coverage that is right for you.

  • Your current plan election will carry forward to the new plan year (Sept. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2019). You do not have to actively enroll for coverage this year. TRS supports a passive enrollment, so employees who are currently satisfied with their benefits are not required to take action during Annual Enrollment. However, employees should ensure their current choices are financially sound, considering any family members and all planned health expenses from Sept. 1, 2018 through Aug. 31, 2019.  This can be done by logging on to bswift and creating an account. 

Paycheck Timeline:

September-Premium adjusted to reflect any rate change, effective September 1.

October-Other insurance/deductions adjustments for changes, effective October 1.

 

Returning Employees:

If you are a returning enrollee and you want to change your benefit plan coverage for 2018-19: 

Log in to bswift; Go to: https://trsactivecare.bswift.com.

  • Find your district
  • Click Create Your Account.
  • Enter your SSN and DOB. bswift will prompt you to create a username and password.
  • Update your name, address, or any other demographic information under My Profile or Employee Information page, if necessary.
  • Click save and continue to the Family Information page, if applicable.
  • Add or drop dependents, even if declining for ACA purposes
  • Select a TRS-ActiveCare plan option
  • Cancel and/or decline coverage

 

New Employees:

Complete the enrollment process by registering on bswift

            The bswift Enrollment Portal can be accessed directly by employees to enroll or change coverage/self-service sign-on.
Go to:
https://trsactivecare.bswift.com.

            If you are a new enrollee

  • Log into bswift and find your district
  • Click Create Your Account
  • Enter the required information (* Indicates that it is a mandatory field)
  • Once all required fields are completed, create a username and password

Now you are ready to enroll

  • Click save and continue to the dependent page even if declining for ACA purposes
  • If there are no dependents to enroll check “Next”
