This is the image for the news article titled Random Drug Testing Letter to Devine ISD FamiliesAttention Devine ISD Families,

Devine ISD requires random drug-testing of any student in grades 9-12 who chooses to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities and drives and parks a vehicle on school property. DISD contracts with a third-party company to administer all random drug tests.

As in previous school years, all students who are randomly selected to participate in drug testing must complete the test in order to continue involvement in school-sponsored extracurricular activities. This includes remote (synchronous/asynchronous) students who are currently participants.

On the day of a random drug test, any DISD student who is randomly selected to participate in drug testing must participate in the drug test by the end of that same school day. If a remote (synchronous/asynchronous) student is contacted to complete a random drug test, it is the responsibility of that student and/or parent to arrange transportation to Devine High School to complete the random drug test that same day. If a remote, synchronous/asynchronous student does not complete a random drug test on the given school day, that student shall be ineligible for participation in school-sponsored extracurricular activities for a minimum of 30 school days (DISD Board Policy FNF Local).

If you have any questions regarding our DISD random drug testing procedures, please feel free to contact your campus principal.

Thank you for your help and continued support!

Respectfully,
Dr. Todd Grandjean
Superintendent
