WATER RESTORED AS OF 11:15 A.M.

Good Morning Devine Families,
This morning during the water construction project work, contractors inadvertently ruptured a water line that feeds the elementary and intermediate campuses. Based on current information, the repair will take 4-5 hours. We will not be closing campuses during this repair. Portable toilets are available on both campuses. We will keep you updated if new information becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Devine ISD Families,

Due to the City of Devine’s water line construction and replacement project, a water interruption notice was issued that will affect district facilities including: Ciavarra Elementary, Devine Intermediate, Devine Middle, Devine High, and the football stadium area as well as areas in proximity to those sites.

The water interruption will begin Saturday, January 27 at 10.a.m. For the next 21 days, Monday through Friday, the water interruption will occur from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, the water interruption will occur from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Due to the waterline replacements and the disinfecting of the pipes, the affected areas will be under a boil water notice.

How does this affect school operations?

During school hours we will have running water and restrooms will function as normal. Based on information from Medina County Health Officials, the water is safe to use for hand washing with soap. The boil notice is issued for drinking water.

The district is asking students and staff to bring a drinking water bottle with them to school, similar to procedures used during the Covid-19 protocol times. Please begin bringing water bottles to school starting tomorrow, January 25. Devine ISD will provide water for students to refill their water bottles and will have limited bottled water.

Cafeteria services will continue to operate seamlessly, despite the ongoing water line construction and replacement project. The cafeteria staff is dedicated to maintaining uninterrupted service to provide nutritious meals for students and staff. Staff will follow appropriate protocols to maintain food safety.

After school practices and extra-curricular activities will also be affected. This area is still in planning stages due to the fact that each activity is unique and requires different accommodations. As these revisions are made, this information will be sent through each sponsor and/or coach.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the Devine ISD Central Office at 830.851.0795.

Sincerely,
Todd Grandjean
