District 4

Nancy Pepper graduated from John Marshall High School in San Antonio in 1963 and has been a resident of this area since 1966. The Peppers transferred their children to the Devine school system in 1983 and moved to Devine in 1986 from their family farm in Yancey. She has over 35 years experience in business and accounting, and retired from the City of Devine where she served as the City Treasurer/Accountant.

Nancy has three children: Tina Finto graduated from Devine in 1986 and is a stay-at-home mom, working beside her husband, Charles, on the Finto Farms. Tim Pepper graduated from Devine in 1989, lives with his family in Lockhart, and works for Austin Community College District in Austin. Terrie Barron graduated from Devine in 1994, lives in Devine with her husband, John, and is a diagnostician with Devine ISD. Nancy has eight grandchildren, three attending Devine schools.

I fell in love with Devine many years ago when my husband and I moved to Yancey to farm. The school is the center of the community which is evident by the involvement and support given to the many school activities and events. Communication between the district staff, teachers, students and parents is essential in providing a strong foundation and continued improvement of our educational system. Each student must be encouraged to reach their highest level of achievement. I have great respect for Devine ISD and am honored to serve our students as trustee.
